This Bur Oak Land Trust project is designed to bring more biodiversity to Iowa City with native plants! Native shrubs are more resilient to the impacts of climate change like soil erosion, drought or flooding, and return year after year. These plants also provide food and shelter for birds, butterflies, native bees and other pollinators better than non-native plants. Add some shrubs to your yard this spring! Participation is open to Iowa City residents; limit one registration per household. For full details on available plants and pick-up times, visit the Bur Oak website. Or contact Bur Oak info@buroaklandtrust.org or 319-338-7030. This project is generously supported by a grant from Iowa City Climate Action.
